Did you know...
Gaming in Mississippi and Louisiana has rebounded from the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina, generating more than $5 billion in total gaming revenue during the 12 months ending June 30, 2008, or about 16% of the total gaming revenue in commercial US casino jurisdictions.
Mississippi is once again the third largest commercial casino jurisdiction in the US based on gaming revenue, behind only Nevada and Atlantic City. Louisiana still ranks as the fifth-largest jurisdiction.
Monthly gaming revenue for the Mississippi Gulf Coast counties is now running about 5% ahead of revenues produced pre-Katrina, and the prospects for growth are significant with more properties on the horizon.
